You have many choices of what to do or where to go in Brisbane, so the friendly people at Alamo and Rental Car Choices have put some suggestions for you to think about:
  • Brisbane Koala Bushlands
The bushlands are actually conservation parks connected together forming a large Eucalypt forest that is home to the favorite Aussie animal, the koala bear. Between 3000-5000 of these adorable creatures thrive in the area without interference or worry of harm. Many other animals are seen in this wonderful territory such as; red-necked wallabies, white-bellied eagles, grey kangaroos, frogs, peregrine falcons and squirrel gliders. Facilities are few and far between. They suggest stopping in at the Daisy Hill Koala Center to get some information about how to see the koalas.

  • Botanical Gardens
These incredibly beautiful gardens are unique in that they have such brilliant colors of native and exotic flowers and plants that will delight the viewer. In 1828, this area was chosen to become a botanical garden because of the rich soil and open lands. Walter Hill, a botanist, chose the area to become the official botanical garden in 1855, and he planted some of the exquisite flora located here today. Weeping figs on Walter Hill Walk, planted in 1870, are still thriving and giving a gorgeous break in the fantastic garden areas. Set in the caretaker's hut, built in 1903, the Gardens Cafe is a wonderful spot to enjoy a great meal or snack while you relax and breathe in the aromas from the many invigorating flowers.

  • Club Crocodile River Queens
One of the best way to enjoy the sights of this wonderful city is to take a paddle wheel boat around Brisbane. This lunch cruise is enhanced by the captain's narration about the city's history, with small entertainment and your choice of some fine cuisine. The evening cruise allows guests to have a great choice of 3 course cold or hot buffet dinners, or the seafood platter with dessert. Wonderful live entertainment and dancing is part of the cruise also; with the Sunday afternoon cruise serving tea, with the relaxing atmosphere while you thoroughly engulf yourself in the city's sights.

  • Three Day Tour - Fraser Island
For something different and exciting, a tour to this awesome island will give you the opportunity to enjoy the marvelous sights of the island by day, while luxuriating in the comfort at the Kingfisher Bay Resort in the evenings. Some of the excitement during the day will be 4 wheeling across the beaches and forests, Eli Creek, Maheno shipwreck, Valley of the Giants and the Pinnacles. On the third or last day, your choice is whatever you chose to do; lounge around the resort and relax or go on a self exploration of parts of the island that piqued your interest.

  • Everglades of Noosa
The Noosa River is one of the most unusual rivers in the world, since its reflection is incredibly red; due to the mineral rutile in the sand coloring the waters. As this river curls around the Cooloola National Park, it enters Lake Cootharaba where the water is shallow and safe for sailing and canoeing. Next you will enter Lake Cooroibah, which flows into Tewantin, Lake Doonella, Noosaville and Noosa; all the while enjoying the many birds native to this area, including: pelicans, ospreys, ibises and blue cranes. This is a very enjoyable tour in a canoe giving you the best views without any problems or exertion.

  • Waterfalls, Wilderness and Wide Horizons
Filled with glorious scenes and sun drenched days, this awesome tour will go into the fantastic areas of Springbrook National Park. Here primeval rainforests thrive amid the volcanic cliffs, rare ferns and incredible waterfalls. Take a bushwalk in the natural settings learning as you go about all the marvelous sights you see. Included is the morning tea, gourmet barbeque lunch at the campfire in Backtracks bush camp and transfers. A simply wonderful day to enjoy the wilderness near Brisbane.
