• Brisbane Koala Bushlands
  The bushlands are actually conservation parks connected together forming a large Eucalypt forest that is home to the favorite Aussie animal, the koala bear. Between 3000-5000 of these adorable creatures thrive in the area without interference or worry of harm. Many other animals are seen in this wonderful territory such as; red-necked wallabies, white-bellied eagles, grey kangaroos, frogs, peregrine falcons and squirrel gliders. Facilities are few and far between. They suggest stopping in at the Daisy Hill Koala Center to get some information about how to see the koalas.

• Botanical Gardens
  These incredibly beautiful gardens are unique in that they have such brilliant colors of native and exotic flowers and plants that will delight the viewer. In 1828, this area was chosen to become a botanical garden because of the rich soil and open lands. Walter Hill, a botanist, chose the area to become the official botanical garden in 1855, and he planted some of the exquisite flora located here today. Weeping figs on Walter Hill Walk, planted in 1870, are still thriving and giving a gorgeous break in the fantastic garden areas. Set in the caretaker's hut, built in 1903, the Gardens Cafe is a wonderful spot to enjoy a great meal or snack while you relax and breathe in the aromas from the many invigorating flowers.
