One of the most famous fountains in
Rome is the Trevi Fountain. Trevi Fountain is the largest fountain
measuring 85 feet high and 65 feet wide. This very popular fountain

standing domed structure in Rome. This famous structure was

Forum Romanum
During the imperial Rome
period the Forum was the center of life evident by several
remains of temples, basilicas and triumphal arches. A total of
three triumphal arches were built on the forum. The purpose of
the arches were used by emperors to celebrate their victories.
Today the Forum Romanum looks like a disorderly collections of
ruins. With some imagination you can see the Roman empire come
back to life. Remains of several buildings from different
periods are visible, this forum is scattered with temples,

located in Vatican City, across the river Tiber. Vatican City is

St. Peter's
Square
Entering Vatican City through St. Peter's Square. Regardless of
your religious preference you should not miss this breathtaking
piazza while you are in Rome. St. Peters Square is actually in
the shape of a circle, located in the middle of the square is an
85 foot tall Egyptian obelisk brought to Rome in 38 AD Fountains
are situated on either side of the obelisk. Thousands of people
will gather in the square to hear blessings from the Pope or to
participate in masses being celebrated by the Roman Catholic's
for religious holidays such as Christmas and Easter.

Spagna also known as Spanish Square
Another famous square in Rome is the popular Piazza di Spagna
this famous Spanish Square is connected to a French Church
named the Trinita dei Monti which is located on top of a hill
connected by the famous Spanish Steps. The Spanish Steps draw
quite a crowd especially during May when the azaleas are in
bloom. This square is used by locals as a gathering place.
Another item of interest is the Fontana della Barcaccia this
popular fountain is located at the foot of the Spanish
Steps. The inspiration for this small boat shaped fountain came
from the flooding of the Tevere in 1598.

Pincio
Gardens
These fabulous gardens are dated back from ancient Rome.
Spending the day relaxing as you stroll through the Pincio
Gardens experiencing the plants and flowers of the gardens can
be quite lovely depending on the time of the year. Another
popular attraction in the Pincio Gardens is the unique water
clock built in 1867. This famous water clock was featured at the
Paris Universal Expo. In 1872 another model of the water clock
was installed in the Pincio Gardens. End your visit at Pincio
Gardens by experiencing the breathtaking, panoramic views of the
city around sunset. You won't be disappointed.

Barberini
This congested Piazza is worth the visit. The main
centerpiece of the Piazza Barberini is the Triton Fountain built
in 1643 by the famous sculptor Bernini. On this famous fountain
four dolphins hold an open clam upon where a Triton sits,
blowing water from his horn. Also located on the square is
the Museum of Ancient Art built by Bernini and houses a
collection of Renaissance and Baroque paintings. The Fountain
of Bees is located in the Piazza Barberini this small fountain
was built in 1644 as a tribute to Pope Urban VIII Barberini.
The fountain is in the shape of a giant clam featuring large
bees as a symbol of the Barberini family.

Villa Borghese
Is the largest public park in Rome. Escape the hectic
streets and visit the Borghese park. Enjoy the many features
such as fountains, statues, temples, and several museums. At the
end of the 18th century an artificial lake was created in the
middle of the park. The Villa Borghese park also has an
amphitheater and a botanical garden. The park also has Triton
statues.
