Richmond, Virginia; a town of great and kind people is one of my most favorite destinations whenever I get a chance to leave town with my wife. We love the great countryside and beautiful rolling hills you get to see while you are in this great town. Many great and influential people have called them selves Virginia men. Putting their state above their country in the olden days. While in Richmond you will see majestic rivers flowing with grace along some of the most pristine valleys you've ever seen. Virginia also has some of the greatest attractions you can visit in the whole East Coast. I simply love this town and this state.
Home of the Edgar Allen Poe Museum, Richmond is a strong cultural centerpiece to the East. Edgar Allen Poe was a very influential writer of his time, writing some of most profound pieces of literature, in my opinion at least. He writes on subjects that will make you mind second guess it self again and again. This museum is only a fee of 6 dollars for adults and 5 dollars if you are a student, with a bargain like that you surely will be more than happy that you have visited this wonderland full of mysteries.
Another great place to take the whole family in Richmond is the Science Museum of Virginia. My wife and I love this spectacular place of mystery and imagination. We discover and learn more stuff here than we do anywhere else. We love learning the way the universe works and how we fit into it's great power and influence. It's curious to know how small and insignificant our lives are, on a scale to the Universe. We are but a spec of sand on our beaches compared to our size and role in the whole universe. Its simply breathtaking trying to imagine what can be out there beyond our galaxy. This Museum is a great place for anyone and any age, you will surely be able to get something out of this great place.
At the Richmond Holocaust Museum, you will see some of the struggles and troubles the people went though at the mercy of Hitler in Germany. When there was no one else able to help them, they were simply helpless at the hands of a tyrant. It is a very sad and emotional museum to say the very least. I can't believe some of the things I saw here and read about. It's tragic and terrifying to learn some of the things that happened to these people, even though they had nothing to do with any of the problems at the time, all Hitler's frustration and anger was taken out on these poor people.
A jewel of the South known as the Museum and White House of the Confederacy is located here in Richmond, Virginia. You will see the capitol of what was once known as the South. A country of it's own rivaling that of the North. This "white house" was the capitol of all affairs foreign and domestic at one time. This is also home of the world's largest collection of confederate artifacts. You will also see some of the work done by Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson, some very powerful and important people of their time.
